A (wo)man, a plan, a test...JLPT

On December 6th, I sat the JLPT 2-kyu exam. While the results of that don't come out until February, optimistic me is setting a new goal- 1-kyu by December, 2010. Because what is life without unrealistic goals, really?

My study plan:

December- Start working through Kanzen Master 1-kyu Kanji (bright pink barbie book), free reading magazines and novels to build vocabulary.
January- Continue KMK1, continue free reading
February- Continue KMK1, free reading, start 2-kyu grammar review
March- Finish KMK1 and grammar review
April, May, June- I intend to spend these three months in a 4 hours a day language intensive studying kanji, grammar, and listening. Make kanji cards. June, take first practice 1-kyu to check score.
July, August, September- Possibly continuing language intensive, or if I decide it is not worth the money I will probably take an 1-kyu prep course in August. Continue kanji cards and work through Kanzen Master Reading 1kyu and Nihongo Through Newspapers. Take second practice test- if score 60% or above, sign up for test. If it's really low, accept defeat and rearrange schedule for July 2011.
October- Review all 1kyu grammar and continue reading for vocabulary and kanji reinforcement.
November- Review kanji and more reading practice. Free reading.
December- Exam

I've heard stories of people passing with only 10 months of study as long as they put the time in to really nail the kanji and vocabulary, so it's not necessarily unrealistic...it just remains to be seen if it's realistic for me.
